Mass Update

The mass or bulk update function will allow you to update the same set of changes to more than one weld at a time.

Welds in Planned and Allocated Stages

When you click on the "Update" button on the welds list page, you will be taken to the weld mass update page. This section is for updating welds that are in the planned or allocated stages. 
Search and select welds
  1. The status of the welds will be shown here;
  2. You may change the condition for the search. The "AND" condition will show results that satisfy all the queries. The "OR" condition will show results that match at least one of the search queries;
  3. Click here to add another condition;
  4. Select the search option, which is similar to filtering results in Excel;
  5. Enter the value;
  6. Click on the search button to get the search results;
  7. This table will show the search results. The number in orange background will show the number of matching welds;
  8. Click on this check box to select all the welds that match the search criteria or select them individually;
  9. The number in the blue background will show the number of welds selected;
  10. Click on the "Mass Update" button to open the page to pick or enter the values to be changed. If you have selected more than 1000 welds, this button will be disabled;

  1. The table heading will show the number of welds selected and the stage of the workflow the selected welds are in;
  2. Select the WPS;
  3. Select the welders;
  4. Pick the weld date, material heat numbers and other data;
  5. Click save to update the welds. Data entered here will overwrite previously entered values for the selected welds. Please see below;

If there was any data in the welds selected, they will be overwritten with the data entered here. For example, if two of the four welds selected here already had a WPS or welder IDs or material heat numbers selected, the changes made here will overwrite that data. If you are only updating comments and leaving all the other fields blank, all the welds selected here will have the previously entered data deleted and only the comments will be updated.

Welds in Completed Stage

This section of the article is for updating welds that are in the completed stage.

  1. The status of the welds will be shown here. Check the section above to select the fields and enter data for the search criteria;
  2. Click on the "Mass Update" button to open the page to pick or enter the values to be changed. If you have selected more than 1000 welds, this button will be disabled;

  1. The table heading will show the number of welds selected and the stage of the workflow the selected welds are in;
  2. The data that can be changed for completed welds will be limited to the material heat numbers, consumable batch numbers and comments;
  3. Click save to update the welds. Data entered here will overwrite previously entered values for the selected welds;

If there was any data in the welds selected, they will be overwritten with the data entered here. The data not shown here will not be changed i.e. WPS number, welder IDs, date welded, etc will not be changed.

Alerts

WeldTrace will check if the materials that you select are approved for use in the WPS, if the thickness of the materials used are within the range qualified for the WPS as well as the welders' qualifications and show alerts where relevant. You will be able to ignore the alert and go ahead with saving the data. Please see the examples shown below as to the type of alerts you can expect to see.

  1. The warning message here is to alert you that the thickness of the material selected here is not within the WPS approval range for thickness;
  2. This alert is for the P-number of the material selected is not within the WPS approval range for P-numbers;

  1. The warning message here is to alert you that the thickness of the material selected is outside the approval range for welder qualifications selected;
